  • Understand the importance of developing learner ownership by traveling through the different phases 
  • Designing a checklist or progression board that the learners can use in class
  • Allowing time for  constructing resources to allow learners to take ownership of his/her own learning 
Overview:

  • Familiarize yourself with the blended and personalized learning rubric
  • Design a personalized learning progression that best works for you and your students
  • Provide feedback on your next steps for a classroom transformation through checklist

Pick one of the following items to complete 
  • Create a Phase 2 Checklist 
  • Create a Phase 3 Progression Board
  • Create a Challenge that will go along with your content
Create a Phase 2 Checklist
  • Design a checklist that would work best for you and your students.
  • Note that there is not one checklist that is better than an other.  However, we noticed that if the teacher prints out the checklist the students will have more ownership in completing the checklist than if it is digital. 
  • Share you checklist with the group through Seesaw
  • Label your checklist Mod 2 Checklist 
Create a Progression Board
  • Design a progression board that would work best for you and your students.  
  • See examples ------------------------>
  • Share your progression board with the group through Seesaw
  • Label your progression board Mod 2 Progression Board
Create a Challenge
  • Think of all of the learning targets and standards that could be covered in either a nine week or semester
  • Develop a challenge that will fit most if not all of the content 
  • Design the start of your challenge project.  Note, take look at BIE.org for ideas.

After you have watched the video and completed the independent activity find at least one other person to complete the Learner Ownership sort.  
  • Grab a set of the Ownership Sort Cards and follow the directions on the cards. 
  • You will need at least one other person for this activity and no more than three to a group.  
  • Take a photo of your sort and pace it in the Seesaw folder.
  • Label it Mod 2 Future Ready
